The Classmates.com membership strategy required a potential user to register with the site before viewing any site content. This barrier to entry caused a substantial drop off throughout the five step registration process. The "Open Door" project was a test to see if providing potential members with a "sneak peak" of site content, before asking them to register, would increase conversion rates.
